For ND State House of Representatives
Having spent most of her career in the service industry, Huss is passionate about the legislators’ responsibility to ensure that everyone in her district and state are able to live productive and independent lives, especially when they work full time on tipped minimum wage which has not been increased since 1997. “As inflation continues and time passes, neither the federal or state officials with the ability to make change have done what is needed for real, working North Dakotans,” Huss explained.
With a background in radio broadcasting and print media, Huss is passionate about freedom of speech, people’s rights to self expression, and access to free and fair media. Huss has also shared her commitment to support all North Dakotans, including those who may be struggling with substance use saying, “I want to create room for people in our communities who may be suffering to be given a chance to feel a sense of belonging, to have the resources they need to be able to be productive and valued members of society.”
“I am seeking election because I believe I can give a voice to all District 24 North Dakotans, especially those whose voices have been ignored by the political establishment. If elected, my role as your Representative would be to dedicate time listening to what residents of District 24 actually care about. My job would be to share their needs and desires with fellow lawmakers in Bismarck, and to fight for the needs and wellbeing of my neighbors,” Huss said.
Huss lives in Valley City, working in landscaping for a small, women-owned business. When not working she values spending time with her son, family, and friends.
