My Story
I was born and raised in Valley City and am a lifelong [District 24] Barnes County resident. I’m a mom, daughter, and friend. I started working at 15 years old, have spent most of my career in the service industry, while also working in radio broadcasting and print media. In 2021 I started work in landscaping with a female owned small business. I strive to be an active community member and volunteer. As a lifelong student, I am looking forward to further engaging with District 24 residents on this campaign.
My Values
My passion in broadcast and print media has left me with a deep commitment to true freedom of speech and fair access to information. I want to ensure that all people are able to share in the flow of ideas and information without major corporations or the opinions of the few controlling what we can and should speak about.
I am passionate about the way we support our fellow community members who are suffering. Part of my recovery was based on being able to move into a healthier environment, have my more basic needs met, and be offered an actual helping hand by my support system. I, in turn, want to create room for people in our communities to feel a sense of belonging, to be a part of a community, to know that they are a part of something bigger. Our state has the resources needed to address our rising overdose and suicide rates – we need to use those resources effectively.
I also care deeply about ensuring that all constituents have access to free and fair elections, increasing the state’s tipped minimum wage so that all people working can make enough to live on, and raising awareness about the lack of worker’s rights especially in the service industry.
My Commitment
I am seeking election in the State House of Representatives because I believe I can give a voice to all District 24 North Dakotans. If elected, my role as your Representative would be to dedicate time listening to what residents of District 24 actually care about. My job would be to share their needs and desires with fellow lawmakers in Bismarck, and to fight for the needs and well-being of my neighbors.
